Question

Help formatting a laptop.

Oct 22, 2012 7:34AM PDT

Hello Everyone.

Its my first input on this blog, im looking for assistance an a problem, recently my uncle bought an used Dell Inspiron E6420.

He asked me if i could get it running and i as a good nephew said yes.

OK the problem with the laptop is that it has a password encrypted with McAfee Endpoint, so i need to format the laptop to factory settings to get rid of the password. Anyways i was trying to do it from the bios screen, but everything is password protected ( the bios and the hdd) so i have no idea of what to do now.

Ok so the laptop has the BIOS revision A08, and it shows System Number 62XKFS1-1D3B for the password.

i have no additional information, no software cds, no purchase receipt to get assistance, Nothing.

any other info that i can provide, just ask i can look at system configuration but i cant change anything

Hi,

I can help you with resetting the BIOS password; please send an e-mail to *********** with the name under which the system was purchased or Bill to Zip code.
We can try a master password which may work.

Please reply with the information.

Thanks and Regards,
Manpreet C
