Help for picking a camera for a 10 year old

by untjeb / December 7, 2006 3:23 AM PST

I have been looking at digital cameras that have video capabilities. The camera is for a 10 year old that likes to make movies with his toys. He also likes to take still photos when we go on trips. I would like to get him a camera that is below $200. Another reason to get him a camera is to get him away from using mine. I have looked at the Canon PowerShot A80. Any other suggestions?

Thank you

I doubt that you can find a new Canon A80.
It was released in Aug of 2003.

A camera equivalent to the Canon A80 is the Canon A540
And you get more camera for less money.

The A540 sells for under $200 and produces excellent photos.
Good video capability 640x480 at 30 frames per second.

Don't buy the A530, because its video capability are less.
(only 10 frames per second).

Here is a look at the A540 compared to the A80:

I like the A540, its a nice camera for a decent price. It is a little slow on refresh times but the quality is good.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
