Help! First MP3 player

Hi
Have just purchased my first MP3 player(Samsung T10). What I want to do is transfer the audio from books on CD (from the Public Library) to a device I can carry on my daily walk. I have been able to download the content of a CD to my computer, but can't go any further because I can't get access to the "Portable Device" portion of Media Studio5--only part of the main page shows, and I am unable to move the relevent part into view. I have Windows XP Media Player. Have done the following so far: charged the battery by leaving it plugged in overnight; run format; run sync. Am afraid I may be doing more harm than good at this point. Any help will be much appreciated.

Goldee,

In case you were wondering, I did answer your post over in this thread:

http://forums.cnet.com/5208-7813_102-0.html?forumID=146&threadID=306614&messageID=2845728&tag=commProfileMain;profileBot#2845728

I posted:

"Is your YP-T10 being recognized at all by your computer, either by way of MTP or recognized as a hard-drive when you plug it in?

Also, depending on your model, I believe there is a firmware update that will improve the overall performance of the unit itself. If you give me the exact model number with the letters behind it (YP-T10JABY or YPT10JAB, etc), I can send you directly to where you can download the latest firmware."

Did you miss that post or did it not help you?

Let me know.

Mr. Samsung

MP3 problem

In reply to: Hello again..

Yes---Thank you. I did get your post and sent a reply. Being a newcomer to this site, maybe I misdirected it. Have solved the problem by making use of Windows Media Player instead. I would be interested in
learning about updates, etc.
