Help Files Corrupted?

by KiriakosII / August 1, 2010 5:14 AM PDT

This below is what I get when clicking to any part of the Help and Support files of my new computer loaded with Win 7. I tried to restore it but no luck. Any idea how to solve this problem?

It's new which is the best time to call in such problems.

Solved

OK Robert, it seems that I have used unwisely the System Mechanic software and it caused the problem described. I did a System Mechanic Back Up Restore and everything went back to normal. I should rather not have followed the default recommendations of the application and I should be more cautious with them. I hope I will not find any further problems.

Good to read but read what others write about registry tools

These forums are full of posts about that title and more. There is no gain in registry cleaning and for some 99.99% of the time any registry tweak.

I missed where it was not a stock setup and wrongly thought it came broken.

Robert are you talking about this software as a whole or just for its registry tools? I just bought it, don;t tell me that I made a mistake, plus the fact that it is considered number 1 in its class as per reviews.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
