I am so new to digital cameras....I had done my research awhile back and was going to purchase the Canon Powershot A540 or Canon A530.....since we are new to digital cameras and I admit not very "advanced" in this area I want easy, point and shoot...I will be using the camera for vacation, my children etc. (but I do not go over the top with picture's but take them) so want to keep battery power/type and memory card options in my wish list.

I do not want to spend more than say $250 and I also need a camera that is easy to use with the USB cable etc.

I want a good camera, solid but easy....we do not need a lot of fancy options at this point.....but I do need a camera now.

The problem is I do not live in a huge city so I went online to check the stores we have (Best Buy, Target, C. City etc.) and I did not see either of the Canon power shot cameras but now they have a whole new selection of Power shot camera's.....

Power Shot SD 630
Power Shot A550 and A560, A540, A550

I also thought about the Samsung Digimax and now they have 2 with a 6 mega pixel the S 550 and the S630.

I know if I walk into a store some sales person will sale me what they want now what is best for me.....

Can any one help me?

The Canon A550 is the same as the A530 except it has 7 megapixels and a better video rate.
The Canon A560 is the same as the A540 except it has a larger LCD.
Either one a good choice.

The Canon SD630 is the same as a SD600 except it has a larger LCD but no viewfinder. A good choice if you don't mind not having a viewfinder.

Samsung is trying to make inroads in the USA after leaving the USA market for a while. I don't feel they have caught up to their competition yet.

Thank you....I did stop by Bbuy today and they had the Canon PS A540 and the guy (as expected :)....showed me the new Kodack. I do not have the model number in front of me. This is all new to me and I am not sure of how to go but the Can Power Shot seems to have a good rep. I just need s/t very user friendly.....

Nikon's L series is pretty good.I had the L4 before i moved to the Olympus SP-550. The L series has expanded a lot lately sp ots worth looking into. The S series is more high end but if youre looking for special features and unique cameras you will find them in there.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
