turning off any download accelerators. They tend to corrupt downloads.

Help! Every time I try to download a program [safe ones] from the net, the process Fails. Meaning that "apparently" the download has occurred [Download Manager], but Errors [see next] prevent even getting as far as Installation, or sometimes there aren't really any files there at all . Sometimes I will use "Run This Program Now," cuz I'm impatient or I trust the publisher. Recently, I just do "Save To My Computer," recommended for more safety. When the Download Manager shows it's done, I receive Error Message like: "Not A Valid WIN32 Application" or Files Are Corrupted. Get Another Copy Of The Program." This happens now on Everything I try to download. I have tried >4 times to obtain Ad-Aware ver7, one of the most popular malware programs - everyone has it - but not me. I try:"Run" I try:"Save" I save into Program Files (unless the default is something else). I'm not A Huge Dummie, but I'm not able to get ANYTHING right now. Help! Mr. Wizard! Is this problem Maybe caused by Windows Installer? That came along with an Automatic Update - I *think* that's when the problem began, but I'm not sure; I'm "a little low on memory" myself. [har] I use SpyBot, Spyware Terminator, whatever-Windows-does, and Norton2008 [no comments from the Peanut Gallery please-it's fine]. I Really Want Ad-Aware, cuz there's nothing else I know of that specifically does "adware." Failures like these put a Big cramp in my needs/wants for other simple program downloads! I don't do very many, but there's something wrong here. Help! and Thank You In Advance. ginni aka ladytrickster [on a good day] XP Pro SP2 ver 5.1 -I have tons of space on the HD.
