Help-Difficulty with downloading and...

My internet explorer wouldn't open my yahoo web page on my laptop right after I installed Link scanner Lite (website advisor software)& Avira Antivir (antivirus software).

I removed, Link scanner Lite- seems to have resolved problem
at least thus far.

Then unable to install Comodo (firewall protection software) and Spyware Terminator(antispyware) since Avira antivir detects a threat at exact moment I click on the free download for both...coincidence?
Any suggestions?

Did you already run an on-line scan?

In reply to: Help-Difficulty with downloading and...

Please run the Housecall online virus scan located at:
http://housecall.trendmicro.com/
Follow the prompts to scan your hard drive for viruses. Select the "Autoclean" option so that Housecall will remove any viruses from your system.
When the scan is finished, please restart your computer.

I also would suggest:

Protection

In reply to: Did you already run an on-line scan?

I want to start by saying Thank you!
I followed your instructions and installed Housecall6.6 Malware. I already had AVG free and I also sucessfully installed Comodo firewall protection, linkscanner lite, Antivir antivirus and Spyware terminator since these were so highly rated(my initial plan was to install these.

I think I may be 'over protected' now. Any suggestions on which to remove?

2 Anti Virus Programs?

In reply to: Protection

Antivir antivirus plus AVG free ? You will have to choose which one as you will run into problems with TWO AV at startup !

I also would consider downloading and installing:

SpywareBlaster 4.1

# Prevent the installation of ActiveX-based spyware, adware, browser hijackers, dialers, and other potentially unwanted software.
# Block spyware/tracking cookies in Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox.
# Restrict the actions of potentially unwanted sites in Internet Explorer.
