I live in a rural area and have decided to get high-speed satellite internet service through direcway since cable or dsl aren't offered where I live. Since my brother lives only about 400-500 ft across the yard, we have decided to create a wireless network in order to share the internet connection and its costs. I've setup a few home (wired) networks before but never a wireless network so I only have limited experience here. The satellite will be attached to my house and the wireless router (802.11g) will be in my house as well. My brother's computer will have the necessary wireless network card (802.11g). However, I am concerned about it (his computer) being too far from the router (in my house) and it getting a weak signal or no signal at all. I have read a little about repeaters and antennaes to boost and/or repeat the signal, so I am familiar with them a little bit. I am just not sure what product or setup would work best for this situation and distance. I want something to extend the coverage of our wireless network to insure his house gets a strong signal and high speed internet access. Any recommendations on setup or products would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
AE
