Looking for a new desktop for Photoshop and Illustrator.
Trying to decide between:
Dell 8700-4319 1TB i7-4770 12GB Nvidia GTX645(1GB DDR5) wifi
$871,99

0r
Asus M51a 2TB i7-4770 16GB Nvidia GT640(3GB DDR3) (no wifi)
$972.98

I like the graphics card of the Dell but am leaning towards the Asus b/c of the 2TB hard drive and more memory? and I hear Asus is a better brand? any advice would be great.

Answer
Obviously both are very good but I lean towards Dell

I've had Dells since 2001 and never had the first hardware problem with any of them. I also have been supporting 28 Dells for about 6 years (I think that's about the right time) and don't remember any hardware problems with any of them either. I hear good things about Asus, but other than a few of their motherboards, have never owned one of their PCs. If you're worried about hard drive space, I recently bought a 2 TB WD hard drive for $80, and just saw a 4 TB external one at Costco for $130. Both of these are expandable to 32 GB of RAM, and RAM's cheap and easy to add. The Dell's $100 cheaper too, so while I doubt you could go wrong with either of these, I'd go with the Dell.

Good luck.

I'm with the prior poster, go for the Dell it seems a better buy. With Dell you can usually get in touch with someone for advice or service, they are typically very helpful and competent.
