The speed is not only your gear but your gear, settings at both your gear and the ISP.
Call the ISP and have them supply the settings on your end plus have them check their end.
Let me start by saying that I have no idea when it comes to networking so any help will be appreciated.
A few days ago I changed from an ADSL connection to a VDSL. One day before the new cable modem arrived, I guess the VDSL connection got established and my speed was about 6 times faster than normal. New modem arrived, I connect it and I am back at my old slow speed. My pc is connected to the cable modem with an ethernet powerlink. So basically, old modem I get high speeds, new one and the internet is at regular speed again. Do I need to configure something and how to do it?
Cable modem is Speedport Entry 2i which may be a custom modem from my net provider, not sure.
My powerlink is Tp-Link TL-PA4010KIT which is supposed to get way higher speeds than the ones I have.
Thanks and if I have not made myself very clear, feel free to ask me anything.
