help computer breakdown

hi i have a packard bell istart 2369 .anyways i tryed turning it but it wouldnt show up on the screen and the fan speeds up and then slows down.
please help

The smoke it produces would be awful.

Or do you mean something else?

there was no smoke it just wont turn on

Sorry but there are fine books and web sites about that. Most of it about reducing what's in the box to the bare minimum and if the least number of parts don't work, then you replace what's left.

I can't add much advice to that but this. Replace the cheapest part first.
