Help changing registry on old computer

by ttb4826 / March 18, 2007 10:47 PM PDT

I purchased a computer that is only 6 months old for my son, I need to change the computers name and set everything for my son's registry.

Any help would be appreciated.

The best approach is to simply reload the OS from scratch. Provided of course you have the recovery/restore disks -OR- the full install(upgrade, maybe) version of the OS, I assume XP. If none of this, then contact the vendor(Dell, Gateway, etc.) and request the OS recovery/restore disks for your system model, for a small cost or free is none was ever provided to orginal owner.

You can TRY! use the pgm. TweakUI, google for it and get the latest version. Another website I found helpful is this one: http://www.dougknox.com/ and use his helpful pgms..
