Help- Canon SD940IS or Canon SD780IS???

Hi! I'm getting a new digital camera for Christmas. I've heard great things about Canon. The most important thing is that it take excellent pictures. I would prefer a camera that is easy to carry, because I take it with me when I go out with friends.

Does anyone have either the SD940IS or SD780IS? Which is better? Or do you not like either? Thanks so much for any help!

Viewfinder or not

The only difference I could see, was the lack of viewfinder on 940. I like a viewfinder and I own the 780 and I'm really liking it.
