Question

Help! Cannot install software!

Feb 29, 2012 3:51PM PST

For the first couple months I had my mac, it was fine. But all of a sudden, whenever I tried to install something new it would take me through everything and then just ask me to verify my username and password (in order to install on my account.. I'm admin, obviously).

So after I wrote in my password and clicked "Install" nooothing happened. I'd try to click "Install" again and it would just prompt me for my username and password again, over and over.

I feel like I'm missing something really simple and dumb because this issue doesn't seem to be happening ANYWHERE. Does anyone have any idea what I'm talking about?

I've already tried changing the password, and even removing it, nothing works.

Is this ALL software that you try to install

or just some software.

Examples would be good.

Have you tried repairing permissions?

Applications > Utilities > Disk Utility

Run the Repair Disk Permissions and see if that makes any difference
