HELP!-cannot access Norton SystemsWork/IE

by kiras / November 1, 2004 2:26 AM PST

when i tried to update my security (accessing web via IE first), i realized that my NSW antivirus became disabled and the email scanning has an error. when i tried to do a LiveUpdate, it gave me a message, LU#1823: live update is running in background..wait until finished..)(ZAPro says NAV is uptodate, Win Security says its been turned off). i cannot enable the antivirus or figure out the email scanning error. when i tried to access IE again, it didn't load. when i tried to end Norton, it continually says Symantec Integrator is not working. then i couldn't end any tasks or shut off my computer. also when i did try to access a website, it said i had unauthorized access.

when i tried to access the web again (via IE), it said the local connection had limited connection and might not be able to access the IE or network resources since network did not assign a network address to computer.

i have ZAPro (trial), spybot, adaware, spyware blaster. since reading so much about security issues w/IE, i downloaded mozilla. i am able to access the web w/mozilla.

any idea what is going on?

The Symantec site is not easy to get around, there are a lot of hidden links. I've used it for years and I still find something different every time I go back to it. The way the troubleshooter works on it, you have to be using the comuter that actually has the problem for it to be of much help plus you have to know all your system specs. LOL. Glad I could be of some assistance.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
