Help Buying New PDA

I am interested in replacing my Sony Clie. After 4.5 years the battery life stinks. I am looking at either purchasing a Dell Axim, Palm TX or Palm LifeDrive. Does anyone have an opinion on these?

Since I already have several programs for the Palm OS I am thinking of getting another Palm but don't like that you can't replace the battery yourself.

Which OS system is better Windows or Palm?

And one last question - The PDA's I'm looking at came out in 2005, are there new versions coming out soon and are PDAs going to be around for awhile or are they dieing away?

Thank you for any help.

I can replace my battery.

But I have a solder iron and know how to use it. To me that's a myth along with the iPod battery.

The LD has been out of production for close to 2 years. What you see is from what could have been the first and last production build. It's quite the battery hog so I'll never suggest it.

The TX is what I carry with me so I can write it's very nice. Some are expecting more in the browser so for them they need the UMPC. As to new models, the PDA market has slumped. And what we have is fairly good for the form and function factor.

Hope that helps,

The axim has a nicer screen but is larger, the TX runs palm OS( which I think is a bit easier to use) the TX has better Battery life out of the box, but you can't replace it, the Axim can have High capacity battery put in bu you. it all depends on what you want more the very nice VGA screen (axim) or a slim Wifi device (TX), hoped I helped you
