The most important thing is a burning program. Most dvd-rw drives come with one (like the OEM version of Nero). If yours didn't download another one from www.cdburnerxp.se.
Then find out how to make a "data dvd" in the particular program you've chosen and use that knowledge to burn the data you want to backup. It takes some getting-used-to (but what doesn't), but once you've mastered it it's not really more difficult than copying in Windows Explorer. Although a few steps more.
hey all, i have a dvd-rw drive and would like to backup my data to the dvd but not sure what I need to do so...anyone recommend some basic software that will just simply copy the files i want to the dvd? thanks
