Help - Autodialer/Virus Problem!

Jun 8, 2004 7:15PM PDT

My friend recently sent me a link and it autoinstalled an autodialer that disconnects me every 15 minutes and tries to dial a different #. Also, this prog resets my homepage to something else everytime I start explorer and resizes the windows so they're really small.

Can any tech-gurus help me out here?

Go to http://www.safer-networking.org and download Patrick Kolla's very good (and free) Spybot S&D, make sure it's up to date and run it. Then, see if you're free of the scumware your "friend" foisted on you. If not, post back and we'll help some more!

I've ran adaware, spybot S&D, hijackthis, and lots more stuff including an online virus scan. Result: Many trojans have been found and destroyed, but not the one thats doing the damage. It opens a window called C:\WINDOWS\dl.html and launches another window from that every half hour. Hella annoying.

http://www.merijn.org/files/cwshredder.zip

go there try cwshredder, it helped me at some point, ive never seen anything that couldnt be found by s&d, adaware, hijackthis or cwshredder so if that doesnt catch it, somebody really developed some crazy adware!
good luck
