Help and Support etc dosen?t work

by MadMan00 / February 2, 2006 5:32 AM PST

Strange things has happend with my computer since a few days:

1)Help and Support dosen't even start.
2)Search starts, but just the dog can be seen
3)Some pages are just blank in IE6, among them Windows Update and hotmail
4)Media Player dosen't work. "Internal Programerror"
5)Can't start system recovery, not even via failsafe mode.

For some of those, there is solutions out there. But none of them works, at least those I have tested.

I?m running SP2. And I have not used Easy Cleaner. I suspect Norton System Works 2003 have something to do with this, but I?m not sure.

Try these.

1. IEFIX.

Correct most minor IE/OE and OS issues.

2. Help and Support, the SERVICE...

This Service (in services.msc) enables Help and Support Center to run on. If this service is stopped, Help and Support Center will be unavailable. If this service is disabled, any services that explicitly depend on it will fail to start.

Hope this clears off a few items.

Download and install the newest Windows Script Engine from the link below. You'll need to validate the OS to get the download but that isn't a problem as long as XP is legal:

Windows Script 5.6 for Windows 2000 and XP

Hope this helps.

The Samsung RF23M8090SG

One of the best French door fridges we've tested

A good-looking fridge with useful features like an auto-filling water pitcher and a temperature-adjustable "FlexZone" drawer. It was a near-flawless performer in our cooling tests.
