Help!!!

Help!!!

Recently opened up a new program that installed all kinds of junk onto my computer. Mostly in the form of numerous pop ups, and Norton Antivirus keeps alerting me of failed email attemps (I have the email scanning on, although I am not attempting to send out an email, so I'm thinking it's the virus/spyware). I've done scans using AdAware, Spybot Search & Destroy, Norton Antivirus, and Spyware Doctor (although it is apparently useless in actually deleting anything unless you purchase the program...). Also tried using said programs in Safe Mode. I'm stumped as to what I should do now. Usually pretty good at this type of problem, but this one is taking me on a real spin.

If ANYONE can offer me some assistance, it would be greatly appreciated! Preferable if you could send some type of solution or idea to my email at Carl306@yahoo.com, because I rarely visit these forums anymore.

Sincerely,
Carl Sagar

Forgot to mention the specs:

Windows XP Professional w/ Service Pack 2
AMD Athlon64

And I think those are the only things that would matter.

ALSO forgot to mention that I'm using the Mozilla Web Browser, both Firefox and the regular version (1.6 I believe?). Pop ups don't appear with Firefox, but I like the normal version better which is why I'm concerned about it, and I also just don't like spyware being on my computer.

Sorry for the numerous posts!

if you named the program that you opened in your statement . "Recently opened up a new program "

Also, Posting your e-mail address in a public forum is a great way to get spammed. We do not fix things via e-mail anyway.
