Hello my hp computer intel 7 has crashed i need help

My hp computer imtel 7 crashed when i told it to check for windows 10 updates or installed them it is now stuck on the desktop screen you can move the mouse but cannot click on anything it does not shut down when i held the power button i cannot restart it or turn it off because everything in the desktops browers is not working i was wondering what i should do should i ket the computer die off and then see if it some hiw turns on or off the problem is that i cant see if the laptop is charging when it is completely shutdown what do i do how can i fix this problem?

Unclear what exactly happened when you "checked for updates or installed them". In Windows 10 you can't check without installing, which was possible in earlier versions of Windows. And why did you search for updates? Usually it's fine to let Windows do its update things without searching yourself.

Since it doesn't turn off using the power button nor using the icons on the desktop, use the hard way: disconnect the power adapter and remove the battery. it will surely will stop.
Then the usual hard reset: keep the power button pressed for a minute.
Then put the battery in again and see what happens if you turn it on.
