However, you will note at the top of "Create new thread" is text in red. In that is a caveat re: posting one's email address.
There is an option to "email this member" in the user profile. This gives one the option to respond or not.
However, off topic (those not asking for technical help in those specific forums) conversations/discussions are held on the board for all to read. After a while, some members might find that they have something in common with another member, and may choose to "email this member" through the profile.
The anonymity of the Internet behooves us all to be cautious re: privacy issues.
