General discussion

Hello everyone. New to the forum, had a quick question.

Aug 25, 2007 6:16PM PDT

I'll get straight to the point; I have a problem with my system. I got this broken laptop for free, opened her up and fixed the problem, and did a fresh install of xp home pro sp1 and windows update. I just realized that my soundcard and built-in wifi dont work. Im guessing its from formatting/fresh installing with a different copy of xp then originally came with this system. It is a toshiba satellite (2004?) M35X-S149 with a Celleron M at 1.5Ghz. Im wondering where I would get the additional drivers or whatever I need to run these devices, ive searched at toshiba and they dont provide that DL on any of their sites. THANK VERY MUCH IN ADVANCE, your help is GREATLY APPRECIATED!!! Happy

the sound device and wireless card in Hardware? Maybe at the Toshiba site find out what came with the laptop? If so you may be able to download the drivers from that specific site. I know for a fact that wireless cards are made by other manufacturers and the drivers can be downloaded. My IBM ThinkPad was "wireless capable". I bought an Intel wireless card (internal daughter card) and went to the Intel site for the drivers.

should have the missing drivers you need. Usually you're missing the drivers to connect wirelessly. Since you cannot find the drivers on their website, try downloading Everst Home Edition. You should then be able to find the drivers that you need using this program.
