Heaven bless the "new philanthropy" (video)...

http://www.ted.com/talks/katherine_fulton_you_are_the_future_of_philanthropy.html
excerpt:
*****
In this uplifting talk, Katherine Fulton sketches the new future of philanthropy -- one where collaboration and innovation allow regular people to do big things, even when money is scarce. Giving five practical examples of crowd-driven philanthropy, she calls for a new generation of citizen leaders.

I could go on an on about how I love open-source philanthropy, philantro-capitalism, and other novel approaches of putting time/money/energy to work on BIG things in what is being considered the "new philanthropy" model.

Anyway, just had to share this. I'll just leave a few questions below:

1) Is this "new philanthropy" really needed?
2) What would you want the "new philanthropy" to do for you?
3) Would the "new philanthropy" encourage you to give AND engage yourself more in what you put your time/money/energy into (kinda you got "skin in the game")?
4) What are the top 3 things you'd like the "new philanthropy" to tackle?

Enjoy,
Shalin
