headset issue(s)

Dec 22, 2004 5:05AM PST

I'm hearing impaired, and owns a HATIS headset for my hearing aid (http://www.hatis.com).

My question revolves around the headset issue(s) when I plug into the K9 Rave phone:

1)Is this normal to NOT hear yourself talking to the other person? I thought most phones are wired to allow this.
2)Even weirder-- when I turn up the earpiece volume, it also turns up the voice output volume! To others hearing me talk to them, it's like I'm yelling at them! How is it that the K9 phone was wired like that?

Anyone had any idea why it's like that?
