But if you're looking for extremely small, lightweight mp3 players that are good for running or working out in the gym:
Creative Zen Stone or Stone Plus: Not perfect in terms of song organization, but sounds great (but don't use the included earbuds) for a low price. It also supports folder organization. You don't need to use special software, you can just drag and drop via Windows explorer. Just $40 for the 1GB Stone, but doesn't have a screen. $70 for the 2GB Stone Plus, which adds a small OLED screen, fm tuner, stopwatch.
Then there is the 2nd generation iPod shuffle. Sounds great (again skip the included earbuds), easy to use, no screen, integrated clip. However, as with the rest of the iPod family, must use iTunes. For some people, that is a deal breaker. $79 for 1GB, but with the aluminum casing feels like it has a better build quality.
I own both the 2nd gen Shuffle and the Creative Zen Stone. I don't think you could go wrong with either of these or the Stone Plus.
Hello,
I do a lot of running and working out in the gym, and I'm looking for a lightweight mp3 player. An iPod is too bulky, so I've never been attracted to that. Then it dawned on me that there must be a set of headphones that simply *is* the mp3 player. That way I wouldn't have to carry anything around. I did some google searching, and found a few, such as the Zonet ZUB8100.
What I was wondering is if anyone has any experience using such mp3 players, and the quality of them. The only problem I can see with this is I won't be able to see the current track, but I figure that's a small sacrifice...
