Question

Headphone plug stuck inside laptop headphone jack

Jun 5, 2016 2:20PM PDT

I had my headphones plugged inside my laptop. After browsing the web for a while i completely forgot. I got up and walked with my laptop. Eventually i waked enough length from the headphones so the headphone plug is now stuck inside my laptop headphone jack.
Any way i can fix this without opening up my laptop?

Try and get it out with tweezers, heat up a thin nail with a lighter for about 20 sec. This has worked for me int the past.

Use pliers to push it inside the stuck jack (inside should be plastic, so it melts and goes in). Then wait for a minute. It will cool and harden and you can pull out the pin and the broken jack with it, hopefully! Alternatively, there are several YouTube videos on the issue.
