headphone jacks stopped working

i was using my computer after having recently upgraded to windows 7 and the headphone jacks on both the front and back of the computer stopped working, it is less than a year old so i doubt both the headphone jacks stopped working at the same time, i have made sure all the drivers are up to date and checked the playback devices and no headphones or speakers show up when i plug them in, i have also opened my computer case just to check for any loose wires, any help would be apriciated, thanks
