Headphone: Bose AE2 vs Shure SRH840 vs Other

Mar 30, 2011 11:31AM PDT

I'm looking into buying a pair of headphones, between $150-200. Actually, this is going to be a birthday gift purchased by my buddy and brother. Now mind you, I'm no audiophile. But I've been looking at a few reviews on Amazon and Test Freaks, and so far I've come up with the Bose AE2 and the Shure SRH840.

Here's what I'm looking for:
- I listen to a range of music, but mostly classical music and rock. I don't want something with an exaggerated bass.
- Minimalistic. The smaller, the better. And if it's collapsible, even better. I don't want one of those giant headphones, as I travel a bit and would like to take these headphones with me.
- If noise cancelling, then better. But doesn't have to be.

ANy suggestions?
