There have been some lab test and automotive mag tests on these Silver Star lights. There were neglegible differences in some tests but perceivable. The best mod you can do to your lights that yield the greatest results is an HID kit. The real one with the balast and bulb. Not the cheesy wannabe higher watt blue bulb. HID bulbs emit light thats at a much higher lumens factor, and at a more correct color temp. In addition to being better, brighter, cleaner light, it uses less from your cars electrical system and a quality kit will last 10x what bulbs will. That potentially means that you will never buy headlights again.
I've had my kits in both cars for over 5 years now and the only time I use highbeams now is to flash/signal drivers. More than enough light on the darkest of back roads on low beam.

With regard to the so-called "bright" headlights (such as Sylvania's Silver Star or Wagner's Bright Light or NAPA's Tru View), has there been any type of scientific tests to determine whether these lights are really brighter than the common garden variety of headlights? I personally can't notice the difference in brightness in these headlights. Thank you very much. user470
