HDTV Samsung UN55B7000 vs. UN55B8000

Jun 3, 2009 10:40AM PDT

We are in the process of purchasing one of the TV's above, but are leaning toward the UN55B7000. Our Family room where it will be has one wall that is solid windows. In one forum a responder said that the 7000 was inferior to the 8000 in this situation. Does anyone know if that is true?

I have the 7000 and love it. Both the 7000 and 8000 have reflective screens. The 8000 is 240hrz and 2ms response time while the 7000 is 120hrz and 4ms response time.

cwh25,

One of the things to consider is if you can control the amount of ambient light in the room. A wall of windows can be a challenge for any panel, particularly if the sun shines directly through them.

What kind of television do you have in that room now?
