HDTV Reciever

May 29, 2008 9:29PM PDT

I need some help. We have a Sony Flat panel color TV Model KE-42TS2U
that is run through an LG HDTV Reciever Model LST-4200A.
The problem is once in a while (3-4 times in the evening) the set
makes a poping sound and sometimes goes blank and cannot be reset
easily. I have sent the LG unit in for repair and it has come back
with the explanation that it was stuck in "progressive mode" whatever
that is (no explanation in the manual). This has been a fairly good
receiver but I am afraid it will eventualy quit on us.

I did also purchase a Samsung DTB-H260F that we found to be cumbersome
and also purchased a seperate remote that did not work nor would any
universal remotes work with this unit.

Is there another HDTV receiver that is better and available I can
purchase to replace this unit and also get a second remote for it??
What would you recommend we do?? Thank you for your help.

the Onkyo 606 is an audio reciever not a HDTV ATSC reciever.

I havent seen alot of these anymore but you should be able to get a universal remote to operate the samsung box, try getting a learning remote, it might cost a bit more like 25 dollars vs 10 dollars for a standard remote but it will work, Ive used two diffrent sony learning remote on one.

I would say the samsung is the best one out right now, I dont think LG is making them anymore, but LG does make a SDTV box under the name Zenith and/or Insignia, but its not HD.

good luck
