Question

HDTV not as crisp as monitor?

Jul 19, 2016 11:09PM PDT

My HDTV (24" 1920x1080) is not as crisp as my monitor (24" 1920x1080) when I plug it by HDMI into my desktop. I have tried adjusting every setting there is such as brightness, sharpness, adaptive contrast etc, but nothing is working. The HDTV and monitor are both 1080p and the same size. Why does the monitor display crisper picture?

Answer
I've noticed that as well.

Since HDTV is all about use as a TV, it doesn't pretend to deal with non moving images as well as a monitor.

Two different display needs. Slightly different LCD or panel technology or designs.

Sorry if I stop here. How these are made are best explained by the maker. Also I'd be duplicating the web on this one.

Well the easiest test would be to connect

it to another TV via HDMI. If the quality is the same as your 24" external monitor than the problem is with the PC or even the cable. Now if the quality is good then the problem is with the 24" external monitor you are trying to connect to.
