Screen Size: 42" LCD
Aspect Ratio: 16:9
Resolution: 1920 x 1080
Brightness: 550 cd/m
So this is my year to finally do HDTV. My criteria are as follows:
- Must be capable of true 1920 x 1080p
- Must be LCD or Plasma
- Must have HDCP so it can play Blu-Ray/HD-DVD at high res.
- Must be 42-50 inches
So, I see Costco is finally taking orders for the Sceptre X42SV-Naga. It's an LCD and if you have one of their coupons, it's an additional $500 off. So, this 42 inch LCD with EVERYTHING that I want is $1999.
I was looking forward to it, but then I wrote Sceptre and asked them if they could loan one to the HDTV Guys for review and the reply was exactly "No, thank you!" And so I thought, "screw you guys" I didn't want to buy a TV from a manufacturer that was afraid to have it reviewed. But, looking at the spec sheet and considering the disturbingly attracitve price AND the fact that Costco is so friggin' awesome about returns, I think I may take the plunge.
It also has DVI so I can hook it up to my Mac if I want.
Anybody have any experience with Sceptre TVs? Here is the Costco link if you are interested in checking it out. It starts shipping in about a week or so, I think:

If this sucks, I'll continue to wait for the right feature set/price point.
