Home audio and video forum under the electronics section?

Also on a recent episode of Real Deal, Tom Merritt indicated he was really happy with his 50 inch Panasonic Viera. I don't know what model.

Some advice from my personal experience
Jan 19, 2011 8:29AM PST

I was captivated as much as the next gal by the idea of having HD and experiencing what many of my friends were calling "simply amazing". I started shopping and decided on a Sony which had the ability to withstand high altitude in a 48 in capacity for my living room. I also decided right then and there that if I was going to have the HDTV, then I had to have the rest of the set up necessary for the HD experience. I happen to work for Dish Network but I also use them at my mountain home so I decided to talk to a friend of mine in tech support who could advise me on the best set up. After a long conversation which I'm sure he had been through many times before I decided to upgrade my existing dual DVR to HD. The receiver would then allow my Sony to stream high definition. I also decided to take advantage of the HD Free promotion Dish is currently running which gives me all my programming in high definition for the life of the account. Now I had it all! I had the full HD experience which has been; to quote my many friends "Simply Amazing"!
