HDR-HC1 HDV 1080i Handycam

Oct 4, 2005 10:13AM PDT

What is the best Mini DV tape to buy for the HDR-HC1 HDV 1080i Handycam? Is it necessary to buy HD tapes or can I just record in HD on regular Mini DV tapes?

I would also appreciate any feedback on the performance of this camcorder.

Thanks,

Frank

tapes and feedback

Hi, just got the HC1 and have used it for about a week. Sny tapes will deliver good quality. Do not attach filters on the lens (1a skylight, polarizer, etc) because they can be seen by the camera in full wideangle zoom.

I bought two 5 hour batteries and have more power and run time than I could ever want. Easily shhot 4 to 5 1 hour tapes on 1 battery. I also got the 2Mpixel card for the stills and the capacity there is also overwhemling (best quality still can hold 1500 images).

Bottom line. Raely like the camera. Ocasionly seems to autofocus quirk and there is a brief delay in refocusing but tht may just be me getting use to the camera. Good flash range and good detial in low lite with the slower shutter or the two IR modes.

I'd buy it again...
