HDMI trouble

well when i connect my computer to my TV via HDMI everything works well, but when i get online to watch a video or to listen to music the sound doesn't travel.

I've checked the mixer,and playback it seems to be normal.
I've tried changing the default to my speakers but its still the same.
as long as the HDMI is connected nothing will play online (sound)

any ideas how to fix it?
