HDMI cables are built in a certain way. While I've exceed 50 feet at times, any more and I'm looking at the usual extenders.
VGA doesn't have HDCP so be sure to test HDMI to VGA first to see if the convertor works.
Frankly I would NOT do this. I'd stick to the old setup or use some USB to VGA card.
Hi I need to go from HDMI to Dvi D but the only way I can send the signal is over a preinstalled vga cable. This is for a projection system, its going out of an HDMI matrix and one projector has a vga booster on it. I'm looking at right now getting some HDMI to vga cables, hooking those up to the vga run that's already there and adapting from vga to Dvi D. Will this work?
