Question

Hdmi Through passthrough on Onkyo Receiver

Sep 15, 2018 7:31PM PDT

My computer seems to be the origin of all the issues but I cannot figure why. This all started when I couldn't get a 5.1 surround to come from my computer despite having all the capabilities to do so.

While trying to connect my computer via HDMI to the receiver, which is then connected to the tv with a hdmi and optical cable for good measure, nothing goes through. Although my computer still senses the tv just as if it were working fine.

Alternatively, testing the same passthrough method with my PS4 and using another monitor works fine, so I'm at a bit of a loss.

On one hand, perhaps this is a driver or bios issue I'm unable to find. Or alternatively something is up with my tv that I also cannot figure whatsoever. For reference my tv is: Samsung un50mu6070F
