HDMI RECIEVERS

I know that samsung has made their avr3000 with four hdmi ports. But considering that I am buying a tv that costs only about a thousand more than that, it sounds a bit much. I am planning on getting the samsung 88 series tv, with 1900x1080p resolution & 5000:1 conrast. The sales guy has a jamo sound system with 90/120 wts per channel planned out, but I want a reciever that will not be outdated in a year. All in one recievers our out, for Hd-DVD will be released soon, and then I will have spent money for no reason. So the question is, does anyone know of a reasonable reciever coming out with HDMI in it without a built in DVD.
