Resolved Question

HDMI out issue with laptop to TV

Feb 26, 2018 8:03AM PST

Very frustrating. Under display settings in Windows 10, it detects the second device and even detects that its an LG tv. However, I get nothing on my tv screen. I’ve updated drivers, tried different hdmi ports, ect. I figured if the hdmi port had gone bad on my laptop it wouldn’t detect the tv like it does. Also on the tv, it does detect that a device is connected to the appropriate hdmi input.

Yes, I have tried duplicating and extending screen. Both the pc and tv seem to acknowledge the connection, but still no picture

choose from
- laptop screen only
- projector only
- duplicate
- extend
If you tell nothing, it's laptop screen only.

Press Winkey+P to get those choices. That's all standard Windows. Some laptops have a function key to do the same.
