Makes no difference as your DVD player probably only outputs EDTV anyway, aka 480p. Make sure if you do use HDMI that your TV's HDMI connector is HDCP compatible, it'll say in the manual.
My personal recommendation is to simply use component cables.
Plasma is no more sensitive to sun or dust unless there's a lot of dust. Fans in the TV can suck it in and cause problems. In normal settings - not a problem.

I was wondering if it made sense to buy a DVD player with HDMI inputs for the Panasonic plasma EDTV? I have heard conflicting opinions about whether it would really make a difference in picture quality since the plasma isn't HD.
Also, does anyone know if plasmas are more sensitive to sunlight and/or dust compared to other tv formats (tube, projection)? I have limited space and the plasma would be next to a window in the sun's rays for about 2 hours near sunset.
Thanks,
Jason
