HDMI Input greyed out for Xbox 360???

Hello All,

I'm the proud owner of a new Samsung LN40C540 TV, and I just have a quick question for all of the Xbox 360 users out there:

Under my input list, all of my inputs are listed and available, even while in standby, with the exception of my Xbox 360 which is hooked up via HDMI.

My DCX3400 and PS3 both show up fine, but the Xbox 360 is greyed out unless I have it powered on. Now, I know that the Samsung has a detection feature and will grey them out unless plugged in, but I would think that it would still pick up that the Xbox is plugged in if it picks up my set top and PS3. I've tried power-cycling with no luck. Is this normal activity for a Samsung TV with the Xbox 360?

shiggypoo,

What happens if you try connecting it with component cables, or a different HDMI cable?

Also, you might try editing the name of the input from "----" to "GAME" to see if that helps.

Hi HD_Tech,

I have tried the component cables, and they do work! Unfortunately, however, I'm already using up the component inputs with my Wii and DVD/Surround Sound System, so it was only a temporary fix.

I've also tried swapping out the HDMI cable with a few others, however I've had no luck with that either.

And lastly, I've actually had the input labelled as 'Game' all along.

Thanks for posting back.

The issue may be either with the game console's HDMI out physically, or the HDMI output signal.

If you can connect to another TV or back with component cables, try changing the resolution, and then change the output to HDMI in the menu of the console. Switching back to the input, it should light up to where you can select it.

If you get the message "Mode Not Supported", then it's a resolution issue, but at least you'll be connecting.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
