Hello everyone! I have ran into difficulty with my TV and my HDMI capacity on it, to play on my PS3.
I have a Samsung TV series LE22B450, and it worked great for a couple of years now, the PC, the cable channels, all the features work great, but it does not recognize the HDMI/DVI, when I plug in my PS3, it does not work.
The PlayStation 3 worked just great till a month ago, and it works on other TV sets. We did not have any power outages, no changes to the TV, we did not move the TV set, it just happened. I have tried also different cables on the other TVs and on this TV. On the Samsung TV it does not work, while on the other 2 I tested the PS3, it works. I tried resetting the PS3 as well for it to get adjusted to this TV (holding the power button for it to beep twice), it still did not work.
When the PlayStation is turned off, the HDMI channel displays as inactive, but when I activate the PlayStation, it appears as active, but when I go to activate HDMI/DVI - Game it displays a black screen and no sound, no image. So this confuses me a little. It does detect a signal. To be honest I have also tried the composite cable (RCA) and it did not pick any signals on AV or on the HDMI/DVI, unfortunately. I feel confused and I can't locate the problem.
For sure, there is not a problem with the PlayStation 3 or the cable(s), there is a problem with the Samsung TV. Either the HDMI port is not recognized in the settings, or I need to reconfigure the TV, or I might need to replace some parts... I have tried to reset all the factory settings by pressing the buttons 'info', 'menu' , 'mute', 'power' and from that menu, I have put the factory settings and re-set all my channels and settings to default, but even after that it did not work. I have also tried to upgrade the latest firmware, but of no avail...
Please help me, any piece of advice is appreciated, or if you know this as a known problem, let me know if I need to get a new TV.
