try a different cable

since you did not specify what device you are using to stream netflix or prime and what you are watching on, it is impossible to help other than try a different cable

Does HDMI 2 work?

In reply to: HDMI 2

Try what's on HDMI 1 in the HDMI 2 port. This will help you understand where the issue is. As in if the source is dead or the port is dead.

Thank you for taking the time to respond, but I need clarification. I'm using a Samsung blu-ray dvd player so are you saying to switch the ports on the back of the TV or in the blu-ray box? Sorry, but this is not something I really understand so pretend you are talking to a 5 year old. Thanks again for trying to help.

I'd try another HDMI port on the TV.

In reply to: HDMI 2

Just so we're clear I can't offer more detail since the make, model of the TV is unknown. If you only have one working HDMI port my advice changes to test your BluRay player on HDMI port 1.

Before all this, there is a common thing a tech will do. It's simple. Unplug one end of each HDMI cable. Then unplug the TV's mains power for about 5 to 10 minutes. Plug in the HDMI cables again, then the TV and test.
