We can deduce this is a Windows 7 computer, (you have posted in the Windows 7 forum), but since we know nothing about your computer, we could only offer wild guesses at the cause of this.

If the Please read before posting message did not display for you before you submitted your post, please let us know so we can check where the forum bug is.

Here is what it should have said;

If you're asking for technical help, please be sure to include all your system info, including operating system, model number, and any other specifics related to the problem. Also please exercise your best judgment when posting in the forums--revealing personal information such as your e-mail address, telephone number, and address is not recommended.

There are many reasons.

One that I really enjoyed (?) troubleshooting was where the driver was changed to select the drive and that select line was used to turn on the HDD light. There was no bug. It was done that way to shave a millisecond off the access time in the driver.

Without more details I'll write there is no problem here.
