Does anyone know how to Recover Data from a Crashed Hard Drive? My Dell Dimension desktop crash a few days ago and a message came up on the screen stating that you should back up all data on the hdd and replace it with a new one. If anyone knows, please answer my question. Thanks.

Remove the broken drive....

to a working machine and set it as the second drive to the working drive. As long as there is no physical damage to the drive, you should be able to access the files and copy them to the host drive.

Or use a Knoppix bootable cd:

using ANSWER MY QUESTION in the topic only makes people want to avoid the post because they know someone thinks that their problem is more significant than the rest on here.

I know I skipped it since it seemed a bit demanding in a free support forum.

However, without researching or asking for all the missing information in the original post, we have www.ontrack.com and drivesavers.com
