I don't bother with more than one partitions since I deal with a dozen machines myself (lab, office and home) so I just make one and organise by directory.

liked systems that come with one huge drive. Now don't get mad Bod. MY rule of thumb is.. Primary drive of 80gb for software and 200gb or greater secondary drive for data files, downloads, pictures, music...etc. Although it's best to backup on media that you can store away from your computer, you could use the second drive to mirror most if not all of the primary. You will be hard-pressed to fill the primary. I agree with Bob about only one partition per drive. Just be disciplined about creating meaningful directory structures.

and life goe on...

A question on how you partitioned?

I would use the Disk Management tool to partition and format.

Thanks for your reply to my queries, I have again a problem with my computer, it's not going to put my computer alive after I switched on the power supply. It's just always reset or ON and OFF only. I checked everything from the chord to the outlet and inside the computer, the connections to all my pheriperals, I also rewired the system, but again did the same. Please help me...

Thank you

HDD 200 GB partitioning

What kind of data would you keep on this HDD, and what size of second HDD, you want to add, and how will you use it?
If you'll keep OS and other your private data on 200 GB HDD, it better create separate partition for OS.
