By decree, definition and more, when a HDMI port is labeled "HDMI" that port shall have HDCP. This does not mean that everyone's implementation works with everyone but it does have HDCP. What you need to know is that many cable boxes have been swapped out or updated by the cable co to fix this. I have yet to see the fix done to a TV.
Now add the make, model of everything involved.
when i hook up my new sat box via hdmi i get the msg `this device does not support hdcp`, does anyone know if an upgrade by a techician can upgrade the tv or fix it so that it does or do i need to buy a new tv? fyi the new box only has hdmi not component cables.
