HD Video camera - minimum PC requirements for recording?

In processing/recording home DVDs from a (HD)High Definition video camera (Sony HDR-FX1): What are the minimum PC requirements??? Do I need dual-core 64-bit processors??? Do I need over 2 GB of RAM??? cgegere@tctwest.net

No Requirements for the Camera

The only requirements for the PC is the editing software. You need more processor speed and memory for HD video. The amount depends on the editing software. Please post your editing software or check the requirements yourself. BTW, you need ALOT OF HDD SPACE FOR HD VIDEO!!!!!!!!!!! Very large files.

You can't make HD-DVDs yet.
If you want to edit in HD, that's one thing to look at, but the dvds you make are going to be standard def, so don't worry about that yet.

Alrighty then! Thanks for the info. I have found the software (SONY Vegas Movie Studio/DVD 6 Platinum for around $100 at NewEgg) and the minimum PC requirements for HD video editing/copying to DVDs, etc. My computer will work, but I would like a faster and more powerful PC. Later...
